Social Sentience

“We are here and it is now.
Further than that all human knowledge is moonshine.”
– H. L. Mencken, U.S. Editor and Critic

I’m continuing my fight against my minor flu with my tool of technology — medication. (Read the last entry to know what daphuck I’m talkin’ about.)

So, I stayed home on a Saturday night. Not unusual for me nowadays (as opposed to my previous decade). I was planning to watch X-Men 2 but I wasn’t in the mood to spend an hour calling everybody — spending about 5 minutes with each person explaining “where daphuck are you?” and coordinating “whadaphuck time you wanna see it?”. Well, I just drugged myself on a smaller dose of Nyquil this time and Ray “Bill” Seto (in his married and settling mode) called me to talk about “whadaphuck’s been up?” and we chit-chatted until my drugs hit me.

Before the Sandman took over, Luann called me about 11pm saying that she’s just returned home from Kaboom with her friends — I assume it must be Jade, Shelly, etc. — and that they’re going back out to hit some bar. I declined (esp. in my state at the moment.).

I definitely haven’t become anti-social. If I’m not out late, I’m either on the phone, chatting online, or writing something to someone… or reading a book. At my age, I feel these acts are more engaging with the world… as if I’m studying people. I’m planning my next move…

Well, I gotta get ready to do my weekly run with Miss Cindy Lee a.k.a. SinCin. This is the fourth week in a row. Talk about an unbreakable will…
