rayhomdotcom interviewing Gareth Evans and Iko Uwais about "Raid 2"

Online/Media Appearances

You may have taken a wrong turn… but since, you’re here… this section is where I update on moments where I made an appearance, spoke, or got interviewed at a public event, or appeared in a publication or other forms of media. Ironically, I grew up a reserved kid. I’ve overcome a lot of my introversion having experienced various social events and public speaking. Don’t get the wrong idea, I’m neither famous nor an influencer. That being said, the following is where I’ve been seen. Note: a lot of older appearances (esp. before 2018) may have been removed/disabled, but they’re here to be archived, FYI.

January 30, 2025: My recent appearance on Dead by Donovan‘s “Nothing Unusual Here…” podcast talking about attending the horror Con, surviving a zombie apocalypse, and I argue with an AI that tested my knowledge of robot movies. Give it a watch!

July 19, 2024: Glen Schofield, creator of “Dead Space” and other good stuff, re-posted my video of his art show, on Twitter (X). NOTE: It looks like he may have disabled/removed his older posts. This was the original url, and I have provided screenshot below:

October 20, 2023: I always use this as a “business” card. This is probably my most accessible overview of who I am (sorta). I love all things horror, despite my love of tech and nerdCulture, this is a quick one-minute overview that canonball_e_production did a great job interviewing me: https://www.instagram.com/p/CypHgTVxr-j/

March 27, 2023: My brother, Stan Hom, is interviewed by stuntman, martial artist, and actor, Eric Jacobus (God of War, Mortal Kombat 11, etc.), about game creation and action directing.

July 12, 2019: I was Comic Con Attendee of the Week, back in 2019. I have attended San Diego’s Comic Con, every year, since 2013. I can’t stop, for some reason. Read my interview experience:
Comic Con Attendee of the Week: Ray Hom

April 7, 2018: During Silicon Valley Comic Con in San Jose, I was invited to speak on a live podcast panel for Keeping It Nerd around the corner at Caffe Frascati, along with fellow guests… writer and performer, Lauren Garcia, comic book artist, Glen Canlas, and fitness trainer & cosplayer, Saul Cervantes. Hosted by Vince Mostajo and Anthony Rivera, it was a fun-filled hour chit-chat about #NerdCulture and a game round of SuperFight (“a game of absurd arguments”). I could hang with these guys forever geek-style! NOTE: Unfortunately, the link to the podcast, have either been disabled or no longer working. You will have to follow Keeping It Nerd, for updates.

December 21, 2017: I guested on the Keeping It Nerd podcast hosted by Vincent Mostajo and Anthony Gerard Rivera, where we (with guests Reyna Mostajo and Jeremiah Dempsey) discuss with fellow nerds about Star Wars “The Last Jedi”. Listen to it on on iTunes, GooglePlay and Stitcher Radio.

March 28, 2014: I sat down for an interview with Gareth Evans, the director of “The Raid: Redemption” and “The Raid 2: Berandal”, and Iko Uwais, star of both films at the Bay Area Fairmont Hotel. This is probably my most popular video:

July 3, 2009: Interview with a local Berkeley, CA show, with Torrid Productions, in regards to my short film “Hubris” being shown at the BCM Film Festival.

June 20, 2009: My short film,”Hurbis,” was screened at Miss Misery’s “A Nightmare to Remember” horror film fest, at the Van Ness Opera Plaza cinema theater, in San Francisco, and afterwards, I was interviewed by Joe Flynn, along with my crew, about film production. The interview is no longer accessible anywhere. But, Miss Misery has, currently, moved onto writing horror novels (you can find her signing at bookstores, including Bay Area Barnes & Noble), and hosting Miss Misery’s Movie Massacre, on her YouTube. And, Joe Flynn is now hosting a podcast, The Grim and Bloody podcast, which you can find on Spotify.

February 2009: Interview on Shannon Lark’s “Chainsaw Mafia”. Raven Black talks to me about my first short film “Hubris“, and how’d I got my start. NOTE: Unfortunately, Chainsaw Mafia has closed its doors, and I no longer have a copy of this interview anywhere. If I can ever get my hands on it, I will return and place it here.

May 2004: Goorin.com appears in Vibe magazine. I was the web producer for the site when this article appeared.

2001: Jerry and I were interviewed on Chinese TV News for our representation of AsianMall.com. I’m a Cantonese speaker, so I don’t know what is being said in the (Mandarin) news report other than that it was about the emerging online shopping trend for Asian-related products. I speak English in the report, but for those that don’t understand, Ive been Chinese subtitled. I was able to capture this from an old VHS tape that Jerry had recorded from, which explains the fuzzy appearance.

March 19, 2001: AsianMall.com appears in the Examiner. I’m the staff writer mentioned in the article.
